LiveTechDocs has a rich feature set to securely share XML documentation online, collaborate through inline comments and discussions, and round-trip with your favorite XML editor. LiveTechDocs is designed with simplicity in mind, so your team gets started in minutes.
Generate your documentation in HTML; navigate easily through sections; enjoy easy-to-access content.
Attach inline comments on content blocks such as titles, paragraphs, images...
Use powerful filters to display content with active discussions, or content updated by the documentation team since your last visit
Always work with the latest version of the documentation; view and reply to comments posted by other reviewers.
Track all discussions in your dashboard; sort by status (open, fixed, or archived), author, or date posted.
Receive email notifications showing you the relative content comments; jump directly into the discussion with a click.
Receive daily or weekly email digests; subscribe to content and get notified when comments are posted; monitor latest activity through your dashboard.
Use a role-based workflow: reviewer starts a discussion (open); writer answers and updates the documentation (fixed); manager archives discussions.
DocBook v4 and v5 support (book and articles); single and modular DocBook files accepted; resolves xincludes; if needed, tolerant of missing entities.
Download XML files with discussions and comments inserted inside the XML source.
One-click zip upload for XML and image files; dynamically maps the original folder structure.
Powerful XML round-trips: update XML locally, upload the new version and synchronize the documentation; we keep track of updated content blocks so reviewers can see changes.
View reports on the discussions and their status (active, closed, archived). Get instant access to latest activity.
Launch reviews, set a deadline, invite reviewers, require SME (Subject Matter Expert) validation on specific content sections.
Track reviewer's progress; get notified of new or updated discussions; view what issues writers are working on; validate writers' changes; send reminders.
All communications are encrypted and secured via the HTTPS protocol.
You control who can access your client space; each user needs to login to access your client space on LiveTechDocs.
Our role-based permissions let you decide what users can see and do in the application. We support three roles: reviewer, writer, manager.
XML and image files uploaded to our server are securely stored and can only be accessed through LiveTechDocs application layer by a user who is logged in and has file-access permissions.
